In 1929, sugar planter and ship owner, Don Bernardo Benedicto started a company called the North Negros Sugar Company.  By 1960, his son, Ceferino L. Benedicto, organized the CLB Engineering & Supply, Inc.  On March 6, 1969, the Benedicto Steel Corporation was organized primarily to manufacture high carbon wire and rope, and also pre-stressed concrete wires and strands later on.  It has three factories located in the East of Manila, which is in Pasig City, and one in the South of Manila, which is in San Pedro, Laguna.

Aside from its main line of business, it is engaged in the business of machinery and equipment, stainless steel, and aluminized sheets, and the fabrication of slings, etc.  Main export: Hi-carbon wire and rope.
